Access one of the most remote corners of New Zealand with a scenic flight over Dusky Sound and Doubtful Sound and across the open coastline. Departing from Te Anau, see a magical part of the country from an incredible perspective for views that will be etched into your mind for years to come.
Visit the southern part of the South Island’s wild west coast for an experience to remember. See the many scattered islands of New Zealand’s largest fiord, Dusky Sound, and the way the elements have combined to shape this incredible landscape. You’ll encounter land and cloud formations and shadows that few other people are lucky enough to experience.
Beneath you will be 1.2 million hectares of virgin rainforest with each of the 14 fiords carving their way into over 200 kilometres of coastline and sheer granite mountains rising from sea level to over 2700 metres. It is this area that inspired Captain James Cook during his voyage of discovery in 1770 and that which has now been given a World Heritage Status.
This longer flight will also take you out over the coastline to see an extraordinary section of the open coastline where waves sculpt granite rock and the mountains meet the sea.
Your return journey will take you to the head of Doubtful Sound, through the hidden valley of Campbells Kingdom and back down the South Arm of Lake Te Anau.
