Prepare for a sense of excitement and awe to wash over you on this 45-minute helicopter flight over the peaks of the world-renowned Mt Earnslaw Glacier. If you've ever dreamt about the possibility of experiencing the beauty of the glaciers from above, that dream is becoming a reality. Departing from Glenorchy and flying above the aptly named Paradise, you will be subject to no shortage of breathtaking views from your prime position in the sky. The snowy peaks seem to stretch on forever, and the bright blue of the glacier offers a stark contrast against the white landscape, so much so that, at times, it is difficult to believe that such a beautiful place exists on earth.

This experience is approximately 45 minutes in duration
Departure times are 9:00 am, 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm

Guidelines

For the purpose of aircraft weight and balance and in accordance with the Civil Aviation Authority rules and regulations, we require all passenger weights at the time of booking
Heli Glenorchy reserves the right to up-grade passengers or merge flights for operational reasons or flight management purposes if required
Occasionally flight paths or landing locations may alter at the pilot's discretion
Add on an alpine landing and enjoy panoramic views of the Dart River and Lake Wakatipu for $120 per person
Go a little further and land on an epic glacier for $225 per person
Earnslaw Burn doesn't have quite as many fast-flowing waterfalls during the winter months compared to the spring/summer/autumn months, but It is still a stunning and magical location regardless of the season in which you visit.

Change your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 24 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Spectators

Spectators are welcome wait and watch you flight take-off and land from our hangar.

Weather

Flights are weather dependent. Weather checks are to be made one hour prior to departure. If we cannot operate due to weather and as a result, passengers are unable to fly, no cancellation fees will apply.

Wear sensible comfortable walking shoes, trainers or hiking boots Bring along or wear warm clothing, including a jacket. Remember to bring your camera, sunscreen, sunglasses and insect repellent
