Take off on a spectacular 45 minute helicopter flight from Lake Tekapo all the way to Aoraki/Mt Cook. Rise into the skies from Mackenzie Helicopter base near Tekapo, and begin soaring over the extraordinary turquoise waters and golden tussocks of the Mackenzie Basin. Next, you’ll head towards some of the highest peaks of the Southern Alps, travelling over the deep glaciated valleys of the National Park. Known in Maori as Aoraki (cloud piercer), marvel at New Zealand's tallest mountain before flying over the Tasman Glacier - a dynamic, ancient river of fascinating blue ice formations and home to the famous Hochstetter Icefall. Land in the snow high alpine location and take in the extraordinary views, snapping some photos and sharing these awe inspiring moments with your partner or friend.
