Join the Glentanner High Country Heli Hike for unforgettable views of Aoraki/Mount Cook as you explore New Zealand's stunning landscapes on the 10,000 acre merino sheep farm. Start with a scenic helicopter flight, then enjoy a 3.5 hour guided hike with exclusive access to Glentanner Station and its Historic Field Station Museum. The hike follows a well maintained 4x4 track in the Ben Ohau Mountain Range, on private land near Aoraki Mount Cook National Park. Enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains 500 metres above Lake Pukaki and the Tasman River Delta. Please note that we do not land on or hike on a glacier during this tour.

Session Length

Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled activity time for check in. This includes registration, signing waivers, weighing all passengers, checking gear and clothing, and a safety briefing for the helicopter
The flight and hike portion will last approximately 3.5 hours, including a 20 minute break at the historic hut for refreshments
The total experience time, including check in, is around 4 hours

Glentanner High Country Heli Hike is a weather dependent activity. We reserve the right to cancel the hike if weather is not safe/suitable for the helicopter or walking. You may transfer to another timeslot or day, if space, weather, and itineraries allow. We reserve the right to adjust scheduled times due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.

Dress Code

Please bring appropriate footwear for a backcountry hike, sunglasses and sun block (it will be provided if you don't have any), light windproof rain jacket, warm hat and gloves for cool days and sunhat for hot days. Drones are NOT ALLOWED.
