Meet on the shores of Lake Te Anau for this spectacular flight which takes you over the Waiau River, to Lake Manapouri and the stunning Norwest Lake for a beautiful scenic landing, before taking to the air once again, flying over Borland Road to Green Lake and a second landing again at Mt Titiroa.
It's all about the lakes! This wondrous scenic helicopter flight sees you depart from the shores of Lake Te Anau for a flight over the Waiau River, along whose shores sits the Kepler Track, one of New Zealand’s famous Great Walks You're journey then continues, taking in Lake Manapouri as you head for the stunning Nor West Lakes for a beautiful scenic landing opportunity. You’ll soon see why it’s no wonder Fiordland was a key region for filming the landscapes of Middle-Earth! Airborne again you will fly over Borland Road leading to Green Lake before the flight path takes you over a geological marvel, Mt Titiroa, which, from a distance, looks capped in snow. You will make a second landing here, allowing you to get a close-up view of the magnificent and unique granite formations, as well as the small lakes that are visible from the air, before returning to the Te Anau base for a chance to reflect on your tremendous experience.
Minimum numbers do apply- two persons per flight - subject to aircraft availability, but we will always do our best to combine bookings in order to accommodate our customers.
You can watch the aircraft take off however space in office is limited, there is a toilet available on site.
The pilots make a weather call each morning. Passengers are welcome to call the office for an update. If we have concerns regarding weather, we usually try and give booked passengers a call the day before to talk through options.
Sturdy shoes, pants, and a light jacket. Wearing warm layers is a good idea since it can be a little colder up in the mountains at our landing location but nice and warm inside the helicopter.
All our flights are shared with others. If you would prefer to book an exclusive flight, please let us know at the time of booking and we will confirm the cost with you. The number of passengers and weight will determine the most the suitable aircraft.
