This scenic helicopter flight will take you on a journey deep into the Fiordland wilderness, soaring high over the main divide with its ever-changing scenery of beech forest and bright blue alpine lakes. Real and remote, you’ll love this little-seen part of South-West New Zealand.
Discover the real Fiordland and get a taste of some of the most remote landscapes the South Island of New Zealand has to offer with this scenic helicopter flight. Departing from the Te Anau lakefront, this unique helicopter experience allows you to glimpse the hidden wonders of Fiordland and a taste of the ‘real’ remote mountains. Crossing over the Main Divide with its ever-changing scenery of beech forest, mountain slopes, alpine lakes, waterfalls, hanging valleys and snow-clad mountain tops, you will be amazed by this vast and magical area of Southern New Zealand, perhaps most noticeably when you make a high alpine landing on Mt Kidd, a remote picturesque area complete with an inky blue lake. From here, you will be able to soak up the epic views over Fiordland’s landscapes, a scene you’ll want to revisit time and time again, so make sure your phone or camera is charged!
Minimum numbers do apply - two persons per flight - subject to aircraft availability, but we will always do our best to combine bookings in order to accommodate our customers.
You can watch the aircraft take off however space in office is limited, there is a toilet available on site.
The pilots make a weather call each morning. Passengers are welcome to call the office for an update. If we have concerns regarding weather, we usually try and give booked passengers a call the day before to talk through options.
Sturdy shoes, pants, and a light jacket. Wearing warm layers is a good idea since it can be a little colder up in the mountains at our landing location but nice and warm inside the helicopter.
All our flights are shared with others. If you would prefer to book an exclusive flight, please let us know at the time of booking and we will confirm the cost with you. The number of passengers and weight will determine the most the suitable aircraft.
