Experience the best of both worlds with a fully guided kayaking and walking tour in the Abel Tasman National Park. Spend both nights at a beachfront lodge with all your meals covered, and spend your days immersing yourself in the splendour of this stunning coastline.
Renowned for its golden sand beaches, sculpted granite formations and its otherworldly coastal track, the Abel National Park is a place full of wonder, waiting to be discovered in all kinds of ways. Experience its unique beauty over two days of kayaking and one day of walking. Day one sees you take a cruise along the sparkling coastline from Kaiteriteri to Totaranui, where you will walk through mature native forest and along secluded beaches to the magnificent expanse of the Awaroa Inlet, home to Meadowbank Homestead. Spend the night at this gorgeous beachfront accommodation, resting up for your adventurous itinerary ahead.
Wake to breakfast overlooking Meadowbank's gardens and the waters of Abel Tasman's largest tidal estuary, before getting settled into your kayak. You'll then paddle through the Tonga Island Marine Reserve, exploring hidden inlets on route to Torrent Bay Beachfront lodge. The final day sees you glide southwards along the coast, past picturesque bays and beaches and the wildlife sanctuary of Adele Island. Stop for lunch at a sheltered beach, before striking out to the iconic Kaiteriteri beach.
The minimum age is 12 years.
Minimum of four participants for the tour to go ahead. Maximum of 26 paying customers at all time in the lodge.
All travel is subject to weather and tides which may cause delay or cancellation.
Please bring personal first-aid kit with plasters, blister prevention and antiseptic, re-usable water bottle to be filled at the office and lodges, insect repellent, sunscreen, sunhat, sunglasses, hand sanitiser (please no tissues or hand wipes as they add to litter to the park), phone/camera with charger, swimwear and beach towel (optional), credit card for Wi-Fi access. In-house bar takes credit card or eftpos (no cash), essential personal medication must be carried with you each day.
