Safety briefing

You and a friend will meet experienced sea kayak guides who will help you to decide which part of the pristine peninsula you should explore. This will depend on a number of factors including weather conditions, movement of the wildlife and your experience level.

Your qualified guide will set you up with all the essentials — a map, VHF radio, backup phone, spare paddle, and safety flares — before running through a detailed safety briefing.

Now that you are comfortable on your top of the range kayak, it's time to start your kayaking adventure. You will be free to explore the spectacular surrounds of the Kaikoura Peninsula at your own pace. You can expect to see an abundance of wildlife, including fur seals, and a multitude of sea birds – including the graceful albatross. You will then make your way back to the launch location to end your halfYour qualified guide will set you up with all the essentials — a map, VHF radio, backup phone, spare paddle, and safety flares — before running through a detailed safety briefing. day in the water.

Participants must be 14 years of age or older
You must know how to work a rudder and know deep-water rescue of a double enclosed sea kayak
You must know the basic strokes for sea kayaking
Swimming ability is essential
Solo options are not available

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
