Become King or Queen of the river, as you conquer grade 2-3 rapids on a bodyboard on this Queenstown adventure. Surf standing waves, ride whirl pools and run the mighty white water, before taking in some spectacular NZ scenery on a gentle river flow, and finally stopping for a casual cliff jump.

Conquer grade three rapids, standing waves and whirlpools, riding a highly maneuverable bodyboard along the Kawarau River, feeding on your adrenaline and challenging your nerves. With some of New Zealand's best white water to navigate, as tailored by the world`s best river guides, this Queenstown experience is a full-on adventure from start to finish. You might even feel like catching some underwater currents if you are brave enough.

And when you've had your fill of excitement for the moment, there is a calm final section that allows you to take in the scenery and chill, before you stop for a casual cliff jump. An experience not to be missed if you want to try something unique, exciting and that takes you out of your comfort zone, this is one of Queenstown`s original action activities and has been operating since 1989.

This experience operates from September to May
This experience is four and a half hours in duration
Available daily except on Christmas day
Departure times from November to March are 8.30 am and 2 pm
Departure times for September, October, April and May is 10 am

Important Information

Guidelines

Everyone must be able to swim, be confident in the water and reasonably fit
The minimum age is eight years old
A private guide is provided for children under 13 years of age this must be pre-arranged
Basic swimming skills are required by all participants.
Skills needed are moving forward with a freestyle kick, turning and balancing.

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
Full refund will be given providing notice of cancellation is received at least 48 hours of the trip departure.

Spectators

Spectators are welcome for an additional cost. To get the full spectator experience, being reasonably fit is an advantage.

Weather

We reserve the right to cancel or amend any trip due to dangerous river conditions.

Dress Code

Please bring swimwear and a towel.

Riverboarding is a serious river sport and adventure activity. Strict safety procedures are observed, however as the operator we cannot absolutely guarantee participant safety. Serious Fun Riverboarding cannot be held responsible for personal injury or for equipment lost or damaged. Participants are required to demonstrate confidence in water and basic swimming skills.
