This guided tour covers all of the must-see attractions of Rotorua; the world-famous Pohutu Geyser, New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute and the native kiwi bird. Enjoy a 90 minute tour through the Te Puia Geothermal Valley, traditional lunch and cable car ride over the region.
This full day tour is the perfect way to experience New Zealand's iconic landscapes and traditional Maori culture. Departing from Auckland, enjoy a scenic three hour drive to the Bay of Plenty. On arrival, you will be welcomed by the Maori residents and treated to an authentic Hangi lunch cooked in woven baskets and placed in the active steam vent. Afterwards, enjoy a guided tour through the 60 hectares of Te Puia Geothermal Valley including the largest active geyser in the Southern Hemisphere, the Pohutu Geyser. Discover the bubbling mud pools, visit the kiwi enclosure and experience New Zealand's traditional carving and weaving firsthand.
Next, relish a scenic cable car ride over the region offering panoramic views of Lake Rotorua, the city and geothermal landscapes. This pleasant 900 metre journey will transport you up to the Skyline Rotorua complex for two exhilarating adventures. First you'll board a luge art go-cart, part toboggan for a scenic ride through the Redwood Forest. If you're feeling confident on the winding bends, take the chair lift up to the top to conquer the intermediate and advanced track. It's such a rush you'll have to do it twice! Your final activity is a thrilling 383 metre zip line ride over the treetops, but the fun doesn't stop there. Finish your journey with an exhilarating 13 metre free fall jump off the gangplank!
