This full day cycle adventure will take you through stunning scenery along the Great Taste Trail. With plenty of fun stops along the way, this is the perfect opportunity to see the sights while also experiencing the vibrancy of Nelson and Mapua, and everything in between!
Starting in Nelson, receive your tour brief while being fitted with your bike and safety equipment. Then hop on and head off towards Mapua on Tasman's 35km Great Taste Trail. Along the way you'll pass the World of Wearable Art exhibition and a host of local pubs, wineries and craft breweries. It's the perfect spot to relax, catch your breath and grab a bite to eat.
Try some bird spotting on the Waimea Estuary and amongst the rural setting which is home to a range of internationally significant bird species including the white heron. The path then takes you across the Waimea Swing Bridge and on to Rabbit Island. Once you're here you can take the plunge into a freshwater swimming hole or kick back on the sandy beaches of the island.
Setting off again, take a short trip across the channel on the iconic Mapua Ferry to Mapua wharf where you can get amongst the vibrant local atmosphere before meeting for your transfer back to Nelson.
