Explore Central Otago’s Lake Dunstan Trail with a half-day self-guided e-bike tour. This is the 23rd and newest trail in the Nga Haerenga Great Rides of New Zealand network. After a short route and safety briefing, start your journey along the Dunstan Trail to Clyde. The trail spans 42km and has a compact gravel surface throughout varying from grades 1-3 of riding difficulty. There are two 140m climbs; additionally, the trail has 25km without any road access. You will cycle past the remnants of a bygone gold rush era alongside the beautiful waters of Lake Dunstan, Kawarau River, and the Clutha River Mata-au. Choose to rest and recharge along the way at popular stops such as the Carrick Winery and Burger Afloat. Celebrate completing your journey in Clyde where you will be picked up by a shuttle and taken back to the start point.
2-22 riders can be accommodated each day.
