A relaxed day of scenic biking from Arrowtown to the Gibbston Valley on a purpose-built, off-road bike trail. Visiting as many of the wineries, cheesery/deli, gin tasting room or tavern as you like, with no pressure or time schedules during your ride.

This full day self-guided wineries ride begins with a pick-up from our shop in central Queenstown and a scenic transfer to the historic village of Arrowtown. Here our knowledgeable team will fit you to your bikes and give you full details of the trail before your adventure begins! Ride along the beautiful Arrow River Trail till it meets the Kawarau River, ride the original Miners Trail that crosses the Kawarau Suspension Bridge, the home of bungy and the beginning of the Gibbston Valley. From the bungy site, set off to bike at your leisure along the Gibbston River Trail. Using your trail map, stop off at whichever wineries you like along the way. Whether you want to stop for a relaxing lunch, explore the vineyards, have a picnic or sample some of the local wine, the choice is all yours. You will be picked up by our shuttle bus at 4:30pm (4pm in Winter) for your transfer back to Queenstown.

    Important information

      • Summer (1 Sept - 30 April) departs 9:30 am, returns approx. 5:15 pm
      • Winter (1 May - 31 Aug) departs 10:00 am, returns approx. 4:45 pm
      • Approximate riding time: 2.5 - 3 hours
      • Not available on Christmas Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Anzac Day
      • To consume alcohol - participants must be 18+ years of age
      • Sturdy shoes are recommended
      • A reasonable level of fitness is recommended for this experience
      • Heights must be supplied at time of booking
      • Children must be over 140cm tall to choose an electric bike
      • Change your booking up to 72 hours before the start time of your experience
      • Changes are not permitted within 72 hours of your experience
      • Late arrivals or no shows will result in you forfeiting your experience

      Numbers vary you may be riding with anything from 1 to 10 other riders. You can ride independently and at your own pace.

      Weather calls are made on the day by the operator. Call 1 hour prior to your tour departure if you are unsure of the weather conditions. If the operator deems the day unsuitable for biking your booking will either be rescheduled or refunded.

      Sturdy shoes and activewear are recommended.

      A great way to see and enjoy the countryside

      This is a great way to experience the countryside and taste the wines of the region. The tour is perfect for all age groups , you don't need to be a skilled cyclist to enjoy the day. The full day allows you to take a leisurely pace stopping en route to enjoy the landscape and the food and wines. The trail is easily marked and the guide gives you a simple map and information to follow before leaving you to follow the trail . The beauty of the tour is you only have to bike one way ! You can stop at any of The wineries and the van will pick you up from there and return you to your hotel ! The scenery en route is breathtaking. We would definitely recommend this tour
