Come and play with the birds and the bugs and explore the more remote locations of Lake Wanaka on this good old fashioned Kiwi camping trip. Kayak across Lake Wanaka to one of the incredible islands and camp out overnight for a truly special way to experience the beauty of this region.
Meet your friendly local guide to get kitted out with a kayak and all of your safety equipment before setting off across Lake Wanaka. Discover the best and secret spots on the lake as you head towards one of the beautiful islands. You’ll spend about four hours kayaking, led by your trusty guide as they share their wealth of knowledge and local history.
Enjoy an island walk before setting up camp on your island for the evening. If the weather is kind you may get to sleep under the night sky and watch out for the Southern stars! With all meals provided, this is a fantastic take on the Kiwi camping experience.
The next morning involves a 20 minute kayak portage before your paddle back to Wanaka. What an amazing way to explore such a beautiful region, all set to a stunning backdrop of the Southern Alps.
Children must be accompanied by a paying parent or legal guardian.
No previous kayaking experience is required however you will need an intermediate level of fitness.

Please bring a cellphone and camera, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), towel and swimwear, full drink bottle, suitable footwear, extra warm clothing.
