Departing Picton, experience the beauty and seclusion of the Queen Charlotte Sound with this fantastic guided kayak trip. Explore at your own pace sheltered coves, beautiful beaches, blue waters and lush native bush. Stop for lunch at a secluded beach for fun-filled day on the water.
Meet your friendly and fun guide at the Picton waterfront in the morning of your adventure before a 20 minute scenic drive to your launch site at Ngakatu Bay. Then, jump into your kayak and set off for the incredible Queen Charlotte Sound. You’ll head away from the harbour environs to the spectacular western end of the Sound where there is less boar traffic and more incredible bays, coves and inlets to explore.
Your guide will be with you to answer any questions you may have, share their wisdom and ensure you comfort and wellbeing. The exact route for each our will vary each day depending on the weather to keep the breeze to your back and to customise the tour to your abilities and interests. On any given day, you have a good chance of seeing sting rays and eagle rays, a huge variety of sea birds including cormorants and sometimes little blue penguins, seals, huge starfish and if you are really lucky, even dolphins.
You’ll also enjoy a delicious lunch at a secluded beach with all locally sourced foods.
