This four-day cycle adventure takes you along Tasman's Great Taste Trail showcasing the very best of what is fast becoming one of New Zealand's best cycle trails. Enjoy access to places unreachable by car and take in the incredible sights the area is known for.
Take a few days to explore some of the most picturesque views New Zealand has to offer. This four day cycle tour will take you along the Great Taste Trail and also includes the newly opened Spooners Tunnel section, the longest disused rail tunnel in the southern hemisphere (1352m).
The entire four days will have you covering a distance of over 160kms. Departing from Nelson, the Rail Route will take you through Wakefield, Stoke, Richmond and Brightwater. Take a break from your bike with your entry to the World of Wearable Art Museum, or stop at any of the award winning wineries, craft breweries or cafes along the way.
Day two sees you head through the Spooners Tunnel and over the Pigeon Valley summit before heading down through the Valley Route in Motueka towards Kaiteriteri and into the world renowned Abel Tasman National Park.
The third day includes the scenic coastal route through Riwaka, Motueka, Moutere and Tasman before heading into Mapua. There is no shortage of cafe culture or vibrancy in the region, so take a moment or two to relax and enjoy a bite to eat.
Head off on day four across on the Mapua Ferry to Rabbit Island and make your way along the island through the farmland and boardwalks back to your final destination in Nelson.
Each day includes double/twin share ensuite accommodation, breakfast and packed lunches. And don't worry about your luggage - that will be transported to your next location for you so you are free to explore as you wish by bike.
