Your three hour experience begins in the Viaduct Harbour where you will go through a short race and safety briefing. Then the action really starts, when you line up in the pre-start and compete head to head.

The America’s Cup is the world’s oldest and most prestigious sporting trophy and ultimate yachting regatta. Usually the domain of billionaires and elite professional yachties, NZL 40 and NZL 41 offer the unique opportunity for everyone to participate sailing on these grand prix racing machines.

With the America’s Cup being sailed in New Zealand in 2000 and 2003, no trip is complete without experiencing the real Auckland, ‘City of Sails’.

On the Day

Session Length

  • This experience is 3 hours in duration
  • This experience takes place once a week on a Saturday at 2:00pm, from December to March
  • Between Dec - Feb there is an additional departure on Thursday at 2:00pm

Numbers on the Day

There will be a maximum of 30 participants on this experience.

Weather

NZL40 and NZL41 sail in all but the most extreme weather.

Dress Code

Comfortable casual clothing and soft soled shoes are required.

  • Trip not suitable for children under 10, for pregnant women or people with medical disabilities
  • Wheelchairs can be accommodated with favourable weather
