Situated in the Okere Falls Scenic Reserve the Grade 5 Kaituna River features the worlds highest commercially rafted waterfall, the awesome 7 metre Tutea Falls. Try it if you dare!

Get your adrenaline pumping with a highly exhilarating whitewater rafting experience out on Kaituna River. Although this trip provides full on action the river is pool drop meaning that every rapid is followed by calm water making it very forgiving for a grade 5 river, hence suitable even for brave beginners.

Approximately 15 – 20 minutes of training is provided prior to the trip teaching all the required paddle commands and safety information, ensuring you can have more fun on the water!

On the Day

Session Length

  • Please allow 3.5 hours (including transfers) for this experience
  • Summer (Labour weekend – Easter) – 9.00am, 12.30pm and 3.30pm
  • Winter – 10.00am and 2.00pm

Numbers on the Day

A minimum of 2 customers are required before the trip will proceed.

Weather

It is essential that all customers contact the experience provider on the day before the trip to confirm departure. Rotorua Adventures reserves the right to cancel or amend any trip due to safety issues, weather, river or road conditions, or insufficient numbers.

Dress Code

You are required to bring a swimsuit and towel. All other specialist clothing will be supplied.

Guidelines

  • The experience provider operates within strict safety guidelines, adventure activities by their nature involve a degree of risk
  • By partaking in these activities you agree to assume this risk and will be required to sign a waiver of liability

Cancellation

Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to this policy:

  • It is essential that all customers contact the supplier on the day before their trip to confirm that everything is fine with water levels, minimum numbers etc. Rotorua Adventures reserves the right to cancel or amend any trip due to safety issues, weather, river or road conditions, or insufficient numbers. Trips cancelled will be refunded in full if an alternative trip / date is not suitable.
  • Cancellations within 24 hours of departure or no shows will be charged 100% cancellation fee.
  • Group Bookings: Ten working days notice is required if the entire group is cancelling to avoid cancellation charges
