Do you like to be at one with nature? Come and challenge yourself to sledge on one of New Zealand's pristine river systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your love of the great outdoors with extreme adrenalin. Are you ready for the sledging challenge?
Your white water sledging adventure starts with complimentary transfers from your accommodation in Rotorua. Then, change into the provided sledging gear and head for the river!
Your guides will provide some land based training and then some further in-water exercises to equip you for the most fun possible. our guides are the best in their field and they are there to guarantee you the experience of a lifetime!
Get ready to ‘Sledge –It’, because it is time for your adventure to begin. Take the river on at eye level as you are propelled through the water with flippers on your feet. But this isn’t just an adrenaline ride - your guides will also share some of the local history to leave you feeling connected to the area.
This experience is part of the Responsible Range as it holds a Qualmark Enviro-Gold endorsement, is a certified Climate Positive operator with Ekos and has received the 100% Pure NZ badge from NZ Tourism.
Participants must be at least 13 years old.
You will be on a sledge board by yourself however there will be other participants and guides with you on the river.
The experience is not affected by the weather, unless there is extensive rainfall, in which case the river will be closed. This is highly unusual and only occurs on rare occasions. If this happens you will be rescheduled.
Swim suit and towel. All other equipment will be supplied.
All guides are of the highest caliber and all hold NZQA qualifications, coupled with extensive domestic and overseas experience.
