The Waiau River changes quickly β one moment you can be drifting down calm, serene waters and then the next youβre rafting through rough and rocky rapids. And itβs all set to an idyllic backdrop of stunning mountains and marble land formations.
You experienced guides will ensure that everyone enjoys this rafting adventure - no experience is required, just a sense of adventure and a willingness to get amongst it.
The rafts can hold up to 10 people including the guide, so this is perfect for families and groups.

Please bring swimwear, a change of clothes and a towel, and sunscreen is recommended.
For transport from Christchurch to Hanmer Springs and return, take the Hanmer Connection Shuttle Bus (ph 0800 242 663). For guests staying in Hanmer Springs, a complimentary return shuttle is available. This service is available from your accommodation to the jump facilities.
