This safari makes it easy to experience the astonishingly abundant wildlife of the beautiful Hauraki Gulf Marine Park. As New Zealand's only research-based marine mammal experience, this safari combines up-close and personal viewing of whales, dolphins and sea-birds with important marine biology research conducted on-board. This allows the general public the chance to encounter, understand and above all help protect this incredible resource of marine life. Conveniently located right in the middle of Auckland City, jump on board the 65ft luxury catamaran and take in the sights and sounds of Auckland from the water. Bask in the sun on the large open deck while you enjoy a quick tour past other impressive Auckland landmarks, all while keeping a close eye out for orcas and bottlenose dolphins which are known to regularly visit the waters. Then it's out into the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park itself where resident populations of Bryde's whales, common dolphins and numerous colourful seabirds awai
Once spotted, enjoy up-close viewing of these fascinating (and in some cases critically endangered) ocean creatures. More than just simply viewing them, the trip also provides the opportunity to learn about what you are seeing via expert commentary from the ship's skipper - gained from 15 years running daily trips in the area. Being wild animals in their natural environment, every trip is different. However, typically after 3 hours the boat will begin to head back towards Auckland. Sit back with a nice drink courtesy of the on-board licensed cafe and enjoy the views while sitting in quiet contemplation of the natural beauty you have just witnessed. There's no need to travel far to have a truly world-class wildlife adventure. The amazing Hauraki Gulf Marine Park is right next to Auckland City and waiting for you to explore it!
