Head to Auckland’s favourite east coast surf beach, Te Arai and see what the fuss is all about during a two hour surfing lesson. Tailored to suit your specific needs, this lesson is perfect for first-timers, beginners or those wanting to brush up on a few skills.
Boasting pristine white sand beaches, Te Arai has become a popular surfing destination for surfers of all abilities. Make the most of the world-class waves during a two hour lesson with a highly qualified and experienced instructor. The lesson will be tailored to your individual needs, meaning it is ideal for first-timers, beginners and those wanting to work on specific skills. Expect to cover beach awareness and an understanding of wind and waves, ocean entry, surfboard handling, a good paddling technique and riding your surfboard in position. Then once the basics are reached, you'll learn more about acceleration, wave selection and take-offs.
All numbers can be catered for - including up to 120 surfers in multi-rotational groups.
This experience will run rain or shine. The water temperature in summer is 19-23 degrees and around 14-17 degrees in winter. High quality wetsuits will keep you nice and warm for the duration of the lesson.
You can bring your own wetsuit, rash vest and surfboard if you wish, however these will be available for use on the day in all sizes.
