Discover the locally made treats and secret foodie spots in Petone, one of the oldest settlements in Wellington. This five hour tour gives your taste buds a thrilling journey through the history and production of local food and beverage artisans and importers.
The tour starts with a coastal drive around Wellington Harbour, heading for the historical foreshore town of Petone. Your first stop is a specialty coffee roastery on the Petone foreshore. Challenge your taste buds in a cupping session and match the coffees to the tasting notes, before sitting down to enjoy a coffee of your own.
The next stop is Zany Zeus Dairy and Cheese Factory to sample cheeses, yogurts and organic ice cream including a smoked yogurt (when available). Then taste a range of cured meats with pizza bread and a glass of lambrusco.
The next stop is a chocolate making and tasting lesson, with premium chocolates like Valrhona Couverture. The final stop is at the local craft brewery to taste their full range of locally produced craft beer. Try a tasting paddle of any four of their locally made beers available on tap, before you get dropped back at your local accommodation at around 2:45pm.
