Discover the quiet beauty of Stewart Island on this guided evening experience to Oneke. Your journey starts in the evening from Oban with a scenic cruise across the calm waters of Paterson Inlet. As you arrive at Oneke, your guide will share stories of the islandβs Maori and European heritage, before heading on a two-hour guided walk through coastal forest and along sheltered beaches, searching for Stewart Island brown kiwi.
With patience and quiet footsteps, you may have the chance to see this remarkable bird in its natural habitat, a rare unforgettable moment. After your walk, relax inside a newly built Maori building with a warm drink before cruising back across the inlet under the night sky. This experience offers a peaceful connection to Stewart Islandβs wildlife, culture, and landscape, creating memories that last long after the journey ends.
