Experience a night under the stars you will never forget with this 90 minute Stargazing Tour in Lake Tekapo. With nearly zero light pollution, witness the most beautiful deep sky objects through the 9.25 inch telescope, learning all about the incredible constellations from the professional guide.
Head out with your guide to a beautiful location with nearly zero light pollution, in the Dark Sky Reserve at Lake Tekapo. You will have access to the powerful 9.25 inch computerised telescope, allowing you to see a variety of constellations and astronomical objects. Learn about the ancient stories, scientific facts, Greek mythology as well as Maori legends, from your professional astronomy guide leading the way. Photos are included so you can take home unique pictures of yourself looking up at the star filled sky above. Throughout the experience, you can use the blankets, mattresses and pillows to lay back and gaze up to the stars, staying cosy and warm. To finish off this once in a lifetime experience, enjoy a decadent hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows over the fire pit.

Weather conditions are very changeable in the Mackenzie basin, so the provider cannot guarantee a perfect cloudless sky. A full refund will be offered to guests if the service is cancelled due to weather conditions (cloud, rain, snow, fog). The decision to cancel is at the discretion of Chameleon Stargazing.
Please wear warm clothing, comfortable shoes and/or bring a blanket to use during the experience all year round.
Smoking or drug consumption is not permitted during the time you are participating in our tour. If guests are considered to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs, or deliberately intend to damage the equipment, the service will be cancelled, and no refund will be given.
