Lying long and deep in the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, the incredible Tasman Glacier is a skier's absolute delight. Your day in a winter wonderland begins with a scenic flight from Queenstown to Mt Cook over the spectacular Southern Alps. Your expert pilot will provide entertaining commentary and point out the highlights of the route including Mt Aspiring, glaciers, glacial lakes and snow-capped mountains along the way. Upon arrival, you will be introduced to your ski guide who will brief you before boarding the ski plane to the top of the glacier at 2500m above sea level. The 1000m descent is an easy to moderate run, stretching over 8-10km. Marvel at magical blue caves and ice formations as you slide down, and do it all again with a second run. After your runs, you will return by ski plane to Mt Cook airport where you'll enjoy once last flight back to Queenstown.
