Get ready for a shark encounter at SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Auckland. In the Shark Tunnel, you’ll snorkel in a submerged cage, with only a clear Perplex bottom and protective mesh separating you from some of the ocean’s most awe-inspiring creatures. Come face-to-face with four shark species, giant stingrays and coastal fish as they glide through their habitat.

This unique experience allows you to witness these magnificent predators up close, with expert guides ensuring your safety and providing all the equipment you need for a thrilling 15 minute adventure. No prior snorkelling experience is required, so you can dive in with confidence, creating lasting memories and a newfound respect for these incredible animals. After your session, warm up with a hot drink and reflect on your exhilarating encounter with the creatures of the deep.

Important information

Session Length

Allow 75 minutes for the encounter all up, time spent in the shark cage is approximately 15 minutes
Only available on Saturday and Sunday at 10am and 11:30am
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your Animal Adventure begins

Guidelines

Minimum height is 1.3m
There is no minimum age restriction
Not suitable for those who are pregnant
No snorkelling experience is required however, must be water confident
All persons under 18 must have signed parental/guardian consent (guardian must be 18yrs or over)
All persons under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian into the cage
Strict wet suit sizing limitation applies

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

This voucher is for one person. Maximum six people plus one Kelly Tarlton's guide per session.

Fantastic experience

I got this for my wife and I to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We absolutely enjoyed and loved the experience and would definitely do this again. The go pros give they give you are fantastic. We now have videos of our amazing time

I had an absolute blast, this was given to me as a gift and it’s one of the presents I could of had, the sharks were outstanding and they weren’t the only amazing thing! 10/10 would do again

Something a little different - swim aboard

I guess I got lucky but it was me alone on this expedition. Quality instructor who was informative and really bubbly. Jumped in the cage with a go pro provide by KT and was left to my own devices to swim around and view the sharks. Its a surreal experience given the proximity to the sharks and stingrays. Interesting view of patrons below - dont get too distracted by them as you wave away!!

I had read reviews before booking in that it would be quite cold, but it was blinking cold!!! part of the experience though, makes you appreciate what these sharks are really made of. I had the cage to myself, Rebeckha the instructor was great, very calming and patient. They do give you a tour of the rehab work they do behind the aquarium which is not mentioned but is really eye opening especially if your not clued up on Marine life. Overall, totes recommend it.

This experience was awesome! The people at reception were very friendly and helpful by giving us a map and directions on where to go. Harry our instructor was very friendly and explained the process clearly. The water was a bit chilly but the blood definitely got flowing after seeing multiple sharks swim under the bottom of the cage and next to it. Was very cool looking back at the GoPro video and think this is an awesome idea for this kind of experience!
