All aboard the legendary Steinlager 2 or Lion NZ for a short and sharp yacht race around the beautiful Auckland city harbour! In the company of an expert crew, you'll race against other yachts around the inner harbour as part of the Royal NZ Yacht Squadron 'Rum Race'.
Join the crew on a Friday afternoon for a spot of yacht racing around the sparkling Auckland city harbour! You'll board either the world-famous Steinlager 2 or Lion NZ and participate in the Royal NZ Yacht Squadron 'Rum Race', a fun 2-3 hour social race against other yachts in Waitemata Harbour. Feel free to get involved in all the sailing action or simply sit back and watch the boat and crew do their thing. It's the perfect way to wind down from a busy week.
Minimum of 14 participants will be required for the Friday afternoon yacht race to go ahead. If minimum numbers aren't reached, you'll be transferred to another date.
It is very rare for racing to be cancelled - sailing takes place in all weather. However, for the safety of the crew and guests, cancellation of sailing is ultimately the responsibility of the skipper. Should this happen, you'll be transferred to the next suitable availability.
Please make sure to bring a jacket, warm clothes and closed shoes.
