KJet offers 60 minutes of unforgettable thrills, spins and exhilaration across three waterways in one of the world’s most stunning locations.

Firstly, your twin engine Jet boat roars across crystal clear Lake Wakatipu at breath-taking speed, surrounded by majestic mountains and mesmerising scenery. Then you zoom under the Kawarau Dam onto the deep green waters of the Kawarau River, complete with lots of 360° spins. Next the adventure heightens as your driver navigates the fast moving currents of the narrow braided Shotover River, racing up the shallow channels at speeds of up to 95KPH in water that’s often less than 5cm deep.

Departing every hour on the hour from Central Queenstown, come and experience the world’s first Jet boat ride with Kawarau Jet (KJet) from the Main Town Pier. There’s a reason we’ve been around for over 60 years… it’s in our blood!

Dress Code

In summer, you'll need sunglasses and sunscreen. In winter, it's best to dress warmly, including jackets, hats and gloves. Life jackets are provided. Please bring your own rain jackets.

The entire team was super friendly and accommodating. The Jet Boat skipper Jack was highly informative and safety instructions were really assuring. The 360 degree spins were thrilling. I'll be back during my next visit!!

Awesome fun and great staff!

First off, we had to change our booking time and the staff down at the wharf were a great help. The ride itself is awesome! We flew along within touching distance of the shore line, kissed the banks as we snaked our way up and down the river, and did a bunch of 360's just for the fun of it. Shout out to our driver, Hamish, for a solid hour of fun!
