No matter the time of year, the Avon River in Christchurch sets the stage for a perfectly authentic Edwardian punting tour! On board a handcrafted flat-bottomed boat and guided by a professional punter kitted out in traditional Edwardian apparel, you will drift slowly along the river taking in the surrounding sights from a unique perspective. You'll depart from the historic Antigua Boat Sheds and meander past the beautiful Christchurch Botanic Gardens, dotted with extraordinary flora.

  • Summer hours: 9am - 6pm (1st October to 31st March)
  • Winter hours: 10am - 4pm (1st April to 30th September)

A very great experience

My son and I and his father really loved it this afternoon we are so going again thank you guys very friendly team and letting my my son feed special seeds to these ducks he loved it so much but he did have hey fever which didn't help but he did enjoyed it

Very relaxing. Great way to spend a hot day but even on a cold day I am sure it would be good. Such clear water. Lovely trees overhanging the river. Followed the trip with lunch at the Boatshed cafe - another great experience.
