An overnight experience on the Fiordland Jewel is the ideal mix of ultimate relaxation and adventurous exploration. With opportunities for kayaking and tender boat excursions, not to mention some well-deserved pampering with a soak in the top deck hot tub, this overnight cruise is pure indulgence.

With its boutique atmosphere, spending the night aboard the Fiordland Jewel, a purpose-built catamaran designed to take in the incredible location of Milford Sound, means a whole new level of indulgence. Arriving at the Milford Sound terminal (if travelling by road) or landing on the boat's helipad (if travelling by helicopter), your experience begins with a cruise down the southern side of the fiord, past Bowen Falls, Sinbad Gully, the world-renowned Mitre Peak, Mt Pembroke, Bridal Veil Falls and Fairy Falls. If weather permits, you will cruise into the mouth of the fiord past Anita Bay, and head into the Tasman Sea for a glimpse of the West Coast, before returning to the fiord. You will then venture up the north side of the fiord past Dale Point, the Piopiotahi Marine Reserve, Seal Rock, Stirling Falls, The Lion and the Cascade Range to complete your day of cruising.

Anchoring at Deepwater Basin for the night, you will have the opportunity to explore the immediate area via onboard sea kayaks or tender boats, before returning to the Fiordland Jewel for drinks and a three-course meal. After a good night's sleep in your climate-controlled cabin with your private bathroom and ocean views, you will be encouraged to wake up and take in the glorious location as you enjoy a continental breakfast - served between 7 am - 8 am - before returning to the terminal.

CABIN INFORMATION

• 1 x Governor Cabin. At the top of the boat all by itself with its own full-width forward window and large side windows. Super-King double bed, the ensuite has a separate shower and toilet.
• 4 x Captain Cook Cabins. All on the main deck all with sea views. Super-King double bed, each ensuite has a separate shower and toilet.
• 2 x Endeavour Cabins. Both are on the main deck with sea views. 2 x King single beds, each ensuite has a separate shower and toilet.
• 2 x Resolution Cabins. Both are on the main deck with sea views. 2 single bunks/ 4 x single beds, each ensuite has a combined shower and toilet

Itinerary

• DAY 1 Arrive at the Milford Sound terminal Cruise down the southern side of the fiord, past Bowen Falls, Sinbad Gully, the world-renowned Mitre Peak, Mt Pembroke, Bridal Veil Falls and Fairy Falls If weather permits, we cruise into the mouth of the fiord past Anita Bay, and head into the Tasman Sea for a glimpse of the West Coast, before returning into the sound Venture up the north side of the fiord past Dale Point, the Piopiotahi Marine Reserve, Seal Rock, Stirling Falls, The Lion and the Cascade Range After cruising, we anchor at Deepwater Basin for the night. There is the opportunity to explore nearby in the on board sea kayaks and tender boat, before returning to the Fiordland Jewel for drinks and a three-course meal
• DAY 2 Dawn arrives at 6:00am in December but can be as late as 8:00am in March. Watch the sunrise over continental breakfast, which is served 7:00am-8:00am, before returning to the terminal at 8.45am Return to Queenstown or Te Anau

Session Length

• This is an overnight experience, the duration is 17 hours.
• Check-in time is 2:35pm at the Fiordland Discovery desk in the Milford Sound Visitor Terminal
• Boarding at 2.50pm, departure at 3:10pm
• Arrival back the following day at 8.45am
• Operating dates: Saturday 1 November 2025 though til Sunday 26 April 2026
