This beautifully restored vintage steamship has been carrying visitors for over a century, offering a relaxed and picturesque way to take in the lake's crystal clear waters and surrounding alpine peaks. Watch the stokers fuel the engines, explore the historic features on board, or simply enjoy the open-air views from the deck.

Your journey leads you to Walter Peak High Country Farm, a historic lakeside station known for its warm kiwi hospitality. The Homestead Restaurant, set within beautifully restored buildings and surrounded by sweeping gardens, provides the perfect setting for a long, leisurely BBQ lunch. Our chefs prepare your meal right in front of you on the open grill, showcasing premium cuts of meat, fresh seasonal vegetables, vibrant salads, indulgent desserts, and a selection of New Zealand's finest cheeses. With plenty of time to dine, relax, and explore the grounds, this is a lunch experience designed to be savoured.

After your meal, wander outside for an engaging demonstration of traditional farm life. Learn about Walter Peak's heritage, watch the working dogs in action, and meet the friendly animals that live on the station. Beautiful scenery and enjoyable boat ride, entertaining sheep and dog show topped off with a HUGE lunch that kept us full until breakfast time the next day. Enjoyable for all ages

Great day out loved the trip on the boat even though on the return trip the weather packed up. Sheep shearing and sheep dogs very entertaining and the BBQ lunch was amazing and everything on the day was organised perfectly, cannot say enough about the wonderful staff.

A must to do when in Queenstown. Fabulous experience going by the TSS Earnshaw and then to have the experience on the farm seeing sheep shearing followed by the most fabulous lunch that has so many choices and variety of meats, salads, bread, cheeses and fantastic desserts. Only issue would be to have maybe an extra hour or change of return trips to enjoy time to look around the farm and also to go to the gift shop as we didn’t have enough time. A definite must and would do the lunch or sinner cruise on our next trip to NZ

Would highly recommend doing this when in Queenstown, lovely boat, informative demonstration on shearing sheep and working dogs. Yummy, plentiful lunch, couldn’t eat dinner at night because I was so full! Loved it!
