Arriving at Walter Peak High Country Farm, you’ll step into a world of historic charm and warm southern hospitality. The beautifully restored Homestead Restaurant sits among sweeping lakeside gardens and sets the scene for an exceptional gourmet BBQ dining experience. Watch the chefs at work as they prepare your meal over the open grill, featuring premium cuts of meat, fresh seasonal vegetables, vibrant salads, indulgent desserts, and a showcase of New Zealand’s finest cheeses. Every element is crafted to celebrate local produce and rich high-country flavours.
After dinner, wander outside for an engaging demonstration of traditional farm life during our live farm show. In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider. If your experience is cancelled you will be rescheduled by the provider or offered a full refund if alternative option doesn't suit.

RealNZ is cashless on all food and beverage purchases in experience. This means that all food and beverage purchases aboard our vessels in Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound, Queenstown, and Te Anau, as well as at Walter Peak and the Manapouri Café, will no longer accept cash. A cashless system will provide a smoother, more efficient experience for both our guests and staff. Our payment terminals accept all major credit cards and debit cards, including AMEX, WeChat Pay, AliPay and Union Pay, as well as contactless payment options like Apple Pay and Google Pay. Note: Fee of 1.5% applies to food and beverage purchases by credit card only. The fee does not apply to purchases in Retail Store at Walter Peak, or merchandise purchased from our Visitor Centres.

We understand life gets busy, which is why all vouchers and gift cards purchased have a 5-year expiry. The only exception to our expiry terms is if the experience has already been booked in. We honour the purchase price of our experiences for 18 months. If you book your experience after this time and the price of the experience increases you can either pay the difference or exchange it for another experience free of charge.
