Distant snow-peaked mountains and verdant plains create the most magical backdrop during this hot air balloon flight around Mount Hutt. As you peacefully float through the clouds, marvel at 360-degree views of this stunning region painted by sunrise, then enjoy a celebratory drink after the flight.
Welcome a new day from the greatest vantage point - up in the clouds! You'll meet in Methven before first light and be transported to the protected launch site, nestled in the foothills of Mount Hutt. Before you know it, you'll be high above the ground, floating quietly and peacefully through the sky, with unlimited airspace restrictions up to 9,500 ft. Painted by the colours of sunrise, you'll revel in unparalleled views across the Southern Alps reaching as far as Mount Cook, as well as views across the patchwork landscape of the Canterbury Plains. The second half of the flight takes place closer to the ground, giving you another spectacular perspective and the chance to spot wildlife. After a serene hour, you'll enjoy a celebratory drink on the landing field before being transported back to Methven.
Please allow four hours in total for this experience. The flight duration is approximately one hour.
