What's Included?

The adventure begins with a 20-minute walk along an old logging track into the Akatarawa Forest, where the excitement of the Little Akatarawa Canyon tour starts. Your journey kicks off with a thrilling zipline ride into the canyon, followed by three exhilarating waterfall descents.

Then you'll be lowered through the first waterfall to help you get comfortable, and when you're feeling confident, experienced guides will coach you through an independent abseil, ensuring your safety and enjoyment. As you wade through a shallow creek and optionally jump from heights into pristine, fresh water, you'll be surrounded by breathtaking scenery, making this an unforgettable experience. The Little Akatarawa Canyon is a hidden gem in the Wellington region, just a 40-minute drive from the CBD. We're fortunate to have such an incredible adventure right on the doorstep of the capital city.

Session Length

This experience tends lasts between 4-5 hours and typically runs at 12pm daily.

Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
Canyoning has a weight limit of 120kg due to the types of activities
Not recommended for travellers with back problems, heart problems, or other serious medical conditions
Not recommended for pregnant travellers

Cancellation

All cancellations made by the customer will incur a 20% cancellation fee
Cancellations made by the customer less than 24 hours before the trip will incur a 50% cancellation fee
On the day cancellations or no shows will receive no refund of their payment

We need a minimum of 3 people on a tour for it to go ahead

Dress Code

We provide all the river gear to keep you warm and safe on the river, however you will need to bring a towel and something to wear under your wetsuit. We also recommend bringing your own woolen/thermal socks as peoples feet tend to get cold the quickest. Please do not wear cotton items as these will keep you cold when they get wet.
