Enjoy a full action packed day on the cliff face as you learn all the latest climbing techniques from your instructor. You’ll be kitted out in all the necessary safety gear and under professional instruction at all times.

Feel your body and mind work together as you reach new heights, literally and metaphorically. It’s a whole new world on the rock face!

All technical equipment including rock shoes will be provided. Your safety is of paramount importance, that’s why all rock climbing instructors have New Zealand Outdoor Instructors Association qualifications (NZOIA) and our instructor to client ratio is kept at a maximum of 1:4. All instructors have an extensive knowledge of the Wakatipu area and are extremely enthusiastic and experienced in catering for a variety of climbing abilities.

Important information

  • Operates daily, departing at 9am
  • Please allow up to 8 hours per trip. Bookings should be made a few days prior or in the case of large groups, please book in advance
  • No previous experience is required
  • A reasonable level of fitness is essential
  • You must be at least 7 years of age and all children under 15 years must be accompanied by an adult
  • Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

This experience operates in most weather conditions. In the case of poor weather, the experience provider will reschedule your experience for a later date.

Please wear walking shoes/boots and dress to suit the outdoor environment.

Challenging & Exciting Intro to Outdoor Climbing
