Wai Whakata is a one-hour Restorative Bathing experience at Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa. Relax across five Lake View Pools, including geothermal pools, a cold plunge, hydrotherapy pool and herbal pool, while taking in views of Lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island.

Wai Whakata is the one-hour Restorative Bathing experience at Wai Ariki Hot Springs and Spa, offering a relaxed way to experience the waters and geothermal setting of Wai Ariki Spa. Guests have access to Te Taiwhanga Matua, the Lake View Pools, overlooking Lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island. The bathing area comprises five distinct pools: two geothermal hot pools, a cold plunge pool, a thermally heated hydrotherapy hot pool and a thermally heated herbal hot pool. Together, they offer a varied bathing experience, allowing guests to move between different waters, temperatures and spaces at their own pace.

Designed for guests who want time to slow down and enjoy bathing without undertaking the complete Wai Whakaora Restorative Journey, Wai Whakata provides an hour to relax, pause beside the lake and reconnect within the culturally grounded surroundings of Wai Ariki Spa.

Important information

  • This experience is 60 minutes in duration
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your session time
  • Minimum age is 16 years old, photo ID may be required
  • Any medical conditions or serious allergies must be advised at time of booking
  • For your comfort and safety, we are unable to accommodate guests who are pregnant in the Restorative Bathing experience, due to the high temperatures throughout
  • Please inform the provider if a wheelchair hoist into the pool or any other special support services are required
  • Bathing suits are required to be worn at all times
  • Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

There is a maximum of 15 participants permitted every 30 minutes.

This experience runs in all weather conditions.

Smart casual and comfortable clothing is recommended. Please bring swimwear, flip flops/crocks, and remove all jewellery before starting or leave it at your accommodation.
