Discover the secrets of the Wairarapa just over the hill from Wellington. From rolling rural countryside to rugged coastline, with wineries dotted in between, this wonderland rarely disappoints.

Your guides will collect you from your choice of location in Wellington at 9.30am and take you over the Rimutaka Ranges. You’ll pass through the sleepy town of Featherston before heading east to Martinborough through typical rural New Zealand countryside featuring sheep, cattle and deer.

Arriving in Martinborough, you will sample some award winning wines including the Pinot Noirs that the region is famous for. Learn from expert winemakers and refine your tasting skills at a mixture of both iconic and boutique wineries.

Enjoy lunch at one to the local wineries washed down with a complimentary glass of wine. Post-lunch the wine tasting continues or alternatively a coffee stop and some shopping can be arranged in nearby Greytown; the choice is yours.

At the conclusion of your tour, head back over the Rimutaka’s returning to Wellington at about 4.30pm relaxed from a fantastic day of great food and wine.

An amazing day in Martinborough!

This was a gift for me and my husband - we were picked up and dropped off at our home in Wellington, driven to Martinborough stopping off at C'est Cheese in Featherston on the way. We visited (also tasted and bought wines of course!) Martinborough Vineyard, Margrain, Schubert, Palliser and Ata Rangi where we had a delicious lunch. Our lovely host was Rose. In every way this was a day to remember and to be recommended. .
