The best scenic flight to Milford Sound begins from Lake Wanaka. View spectacular mountains and the dramatic landscape of Mount Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks, part of south-west New Zealand’s World Heritage Area. The scenic flight includes the impressive Mount Aspiring, pristine glaciers, the Olivine Ice Plateau, rainforest, alpine lakes, rivers and cascading waterfalls.

Fly the full length of Milford Sound before landing and boarding a two hour cruise of the Milford Sounds. The return flight to Wanaka takes a different route for even more spectacular views.

Important information

  • Please allow four hours for this experience, from take off to return
  • Available 7 days a week except Christmas Day (Dec 25th)
  • Call for a weather check before driving to Wanaka Airport.
  • Check in is 30 minutes prior to your booked departure time
  • The package includes a $20pp fuel surcharge.
  • Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

There will be up to 4 people on the flight.

This is a weather dependent activity. You will be required to phone for a weather check before departing from your accommodation on the morning of the activity. If the weather is unsuitable, the tour can be re-scheduled.

Please bring comfortable walking shoes, warm clothes and a water-proof jacket.
