Take aim and fire! Backed by an experienced instructor and provided with all the necessary equipment, you will be given 45 minutes to test your aim and enjoy a spot of healthy competition, shooting clays out of the sky against some of New Zealand most magnificent backdrops.

Custom-designed compact sporting field is equipped with eight automatic clay target throwers to suit all abilities; it also includes the run-away rabbit across the ground (don't worry, it's not the real thing!)

Few clays will get away unscathed once you're done shooting them out of the sky at this Clay Target Shooting experience amongst the remarkable surrounds of the Gibbston Valley and the backdrop of the Nevis Bluff. Accommodating singles and groups of all sizes, this test of skill begins with a thorough safety briefing and gun safety demonstration before you are provided with high-quality protective gear including earmuffs, glasses and a shotting vest. After being allocated your shotgun you will take up your position at one of the six stands, each with its own safety barrier, and pointed in the direction of the custom-designed compact sporting field that is equipped with eight automatic clay target throwers to suit all abilities. This field also includes a run-away rabbit across the ground but don't worry, it's not the real thing! And if you consider yourself an experienced shooter or you're looking to really test your skills, you can always try a 25 or 50 Bird 'Flurry' challenge.

This is a 45 minutes shooting session
Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and safety briefing
During Summer, sessions run every 45 minutes from 9am daily
During Winter, sessions run every 45 minutes from 10am daily

Important Information

Guidelines

Participants must be 13 years of age or older
Zero drug and alcohol tolerance

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 24 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

The stand facilitates up to 6 shooters at a time, allowing both singles or groups to take part in Clay Target Shooting sessions.

Weather

Oxbow Adventure Co reserves the right to cancel or amend a trip due to weather or unforeseen circumstances at any stage. In this instance, customers will be given the option to rebook or receive a full refund.
