Right on Auckland’s doorstep lies the Hauraki Gulf, a boating and diving paradise to New Zealand. This experience is a great opportunity to see Hammerhead sharks as they migrate and bask themselves in the warm waters of the region which takes place for a few shorts weeks each year when the water is warm and the visibility great.

Your day will start with a full safety briefing at the dive centre headquarters in Warkworth followed by a 30 minute drive to the launch site at Omaha Marina. A high powered boat will take you out to the islands where you will enjoy two dives. In additional to the Hammerheads you may also come up close with dolphins, sting rays and the beautiful reef fish.

The two tank dives will be at locations and depths suitable to your experience and abilities.

Please note this experience is for certified divers only. If you have not dived within the last 12 months you will need to contact us about a refresher course.

Please allow a full day for this experience
Tours depart at 8.30am and return at approximately 4pm

Important Information

Restrictions

Please note this experience has limited availability during the months of January to March.

Guidelines

All participants must be certified divers and have evidence of their qualification
Minimum age 11 years for certified child divers, must be accompanied by an adult
Diving within 48 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
Not recommended for pregnant women
This experience is open to all levels of certified divers, however divers with less than 10 logged dives must be accompanied by a guide or experienced diver. If you need a dive guide there will be an additional charge.

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 16 days before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 60 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

A minimum of four people are required for this experience. There is a maximum of 8 people per sailing.

Spectators

Spectators may be allowed in the event of empty spaces, however this cannot be guaranteed.

Weather

Changes may be necessary due to weather conditions. Weather conditions will be confirmed 24 hours prior to sailing date.

Dress Code

Scuba gear will be required for this trip with wetsuits worn at all times.

Whilst every effort will be made to locate these creatures, these are wild migrating pelagic, no guarantee can be given that they will be viable to dive with on every occasion. There are a number of factors that will effect sightings such as weather, surface conditions & water conditions.
