This expedition is specifically designed for beginners and intermediates to help you understand and use your camera better. Based on your specialty and interests the tour can be fully customised, whether you are drawn to wide open vistas, rustic textures or portraiture. Each stop is handpicked for its visual and historical richness.

The day starts with a pickup from your accommodation and as you venture into the lesser known backroads east of Queenstown, you will uncover the fascinating remnants of the gold rush. Visit ghost towns, cross dramatic weaving hills, and wander landscapes where the echoes of history linger in the breeze. Explore places like Cromwell and Alexandra, whose roots trace back to a time of wild fortune and fleeting settlements. This lesson is great for beginners and covers any topics you want to improve in like composition, shutter speed, ISO, aperture, colour temperature and using flash. Just bring your curiosity and camera and let the magic of the land guide your creativity.

Guidelines

Lunch is at your own expense
Participants should be able to travel inside a 4WD SUV and walk short distances
Earlier pick up can be arranged between May and September for the sunrise, please contact experience provider to schedule

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Minimum of one and a maximum of four participants.

Spectators

Spectators are not permitted.

Weather

In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider. In extreme weather conditions or unsafe road conditions the tour may be cancelled if safety is a concern. You will be contacted by the provider and rescheduled.

Dress Code

Please wear clothing suitable to the weather on the day. It is recommended to wear enclosed shoes and to bring additional layers and rain protection in case the weather changes.

Other Info

Nikon DSLRs available for rental on the day. Additional SD cards can be purchased, payable to the provider directly.
