Set off on a breathtaking 90-minute flight north from Tauranga across the Bay of Plenty towards the world-famous Coromandel Peninsula. As you lift off, enjoy views of Matakana Island and golden beaches stretching along the coast. Your knowledgeable pilot will share in-flight commentary with local stories as you fly past iconic surf spots like Waihi Beach and Whangamata. From above, the contrast of crystal-blue waters and lush green headlands creates a perfect view of New Zealand’s coastal beauty.
Continue your journey over the Aldermen Islands, which were once an ancient volcano that is now submerged beneath the sea. Then follow the coastline north toward Hot Water Beach and Hahei before arriving at Cathedral Cove. This natural rock arch is also the filming location for The Chronicles of Narnia. Soak in the final views of Mercury Island and Great Barrier Island in the distance before returning to Tauranga, having captured the best of the Coromandel from the air.
