Sky Diving Tandem Jump Over The Bay Of Islands

If jumping out of an aircraft and freefalling from 12,000ft above the earth sounds exciting, then you’ve just got to try our sky diving tandem jump! With the beautiful Bay of Islands stretching out in front of you, this tandem skydive promises to be nothing short of spectacular!

Imagine jumping from an aircraft 12,000ft above the earth and freefalling for 45 seconds at 200km/h! Whether it’s your first jump or you’re coming back for more, our aim is to provide you with a skydive experience you’ll remember!

Upon arrival at our base, you will meet our friendly and experienced staff, fill out a brief registration form, and be given a jumpsuit for your skydive. Your personal instructor will fit you with a tandem skydive passenger harness and give you full instructions for your skydive descent. These instructions are simple and easy to understand. You will then be introduced to the aircraft you will be jumping from. Now it’s your job to just sit back and enjoy the flight.

Before your skydive you will get the chance to take in some extraordinary views from the plane window. Our base is the warmest dropzone in New Zealand. Looking down upon the stunning coastal scenery below, you will see crystal clear waters ranging from turquoise to deep blue and coast-to-coast views of 150 islands. The Bay of Islands is New Zealand’s northern adventure playground. You may see people swimming, snorkeling, dolphin watching and sailing below. The view from 12,000ft is breathtaking!

When it is your turn to jump, your instructor will give you a final set of instructions. Then out of the plane you go! If this is your first time skydiving, then nothing can prepare you for the exhilaration and adrenalin you will feel in the moments before and during your skydive. Imagine the sensation of freefalling for 45 seconds, seeing the ground spread out far below you!

Towards the end of your freefall your instructor will activate your parachute and together you will float safely back to earth.

After your skydive you’ll be buzzing with adrenalin and grinning from ear to ear!

Venue:

Kerikeri Airport in winter and autumn and Watea Airfield in summer and spring. If you are staying nearby, complimentary return transfers are available from your accommodation.

Session Length

This experience is available all year round, by appointment only. Skydives take place during the daylight hours. Once you arrive at our base, please allow approximately two hours for this experience. You will be freefalling for 45 seconds during your skydive.

Guidelines:

Children under 18 years must have a parent or guardian sign for them. You must weigh less than 100kg and fit the harness to be eligible for this experience. We do not recommend this experience to anyone who is pregnant, nor is it recommended that you skydive within 24 hours of scuba diving.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. You will be with your tandem master during the experience. Our courtesy bus operates with a minimum of two passengers and a maximum of six.

Weather:

This experience may be affected by the weather. In the case of poor weather conditions we may reschedule your experience for a later date. Please call us 30 minutes prior to departure if you are in any doubt.

Other Info:

You can purchase photos or video footage of your skydive for an additional fee. This is payable to the supplier on the day of your experience. You will be required to sign a waiver on the day, prior to participating in this experience. You may also want to bring your camera.
