You’ll learn the basics of surfing, surfboard vocabulary, stance, posture and a dose of water and beach safety. You’ll be fully prepared before you hit the surf! Your instructor will be right there beside you ready to help you choose your waves, line your board up and even push you into waves.
If you’ve ever sat on the beach watching surfers in admiration, stop being an observer in life and join the professionals for a beginner group surf lesson on Ngarunui Beach in Raglan. Known as New Zealand’s surf capital, surfers of all abilities can take their first steps into the surfing world on the picturesque Ngarunui Beach. Cover the basics in the two hour lesson including surf safety, ocean awareness and all skills you need to jump up on the board to ride a wave confidently on your own. Group surf lessons are kept small with a ratio of 6 surfers to one instructor so you can receive personalised tips to master the skill of surfing. Most surfers will be riding a wave on their own by the end of the lesson.
This experience is 2 hours in duration.
The minimum age to join a group lesson is 10 years old.
You'll be in a group lesson and numbers will vary, day to day.
Spectators are welcome to come along and watch their loved ones take part in a surf lesson.
If the supplier cancels the surfing lesson due to extreme weather conditions or other circumstances : a full refund or transfer of booking date is offered.
Wear a swimsuit under your wetsuit. Don't forget to bring a towel.
