Twenty-two different species - that's almost one third of the entire world's population of marine mammals! And that's how many species of marine mammals have been identified in the gulf. With six years of continued scientific programs undertaken on board, our crew are of New Zealand's most experienced and knowledgeable. During your dolphin and whale watching safari you will experience the gulf from the most comfortable and stable whale-watching vessel in New Zealand. Our luxury high-speed catamaran is designed specifically for the sea conditions of this unique area.

During your dolphin and whale watching safari you may be spellbound by the spectacle of a feeding frenzy involving sea birds, whales and dolphins, or see small pods of dolphins playing around the boat. Wherever the most exciting whale and dolphin activity is, we aim to find it. We will also show you some of the most significant cultural and historical parts of this amazing maritime park!

Session Length

We operate seven days a week. Bookings are essential and are subject to availability. Trips depart at 8.30am and 1.30pm from October 1 - April 30, and at 12.30pm May 1 – September 30. The duration of your experience will be 4.5 hours.

Guidelines:

This experience is for children aged 5-15 years. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. It is an adventure activity and is not recommended for people with certain medical conditions. Adult's prices are available - please refer to product code SLZ511.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one child aged 5-15 years. The boat seats up to 100 passengers.

Spectators:

Not suitable for spectators.
