Do Hot Air Ballooning Over Wairarapa for magical views of mountains, rivers and pastoral land. Fly over the lush environment and experience the spectacular sensation of floating through the atmosphere. Savour the feeling of floating quietly over some of the world's best views.

Meet at the Paua Shell Factory in Carterton in the Wairarapa at dawn. Enjoy your flight over the farmlands, and vineyards. Part of the ballooning magic is that you never know where you will land, and you fly only in the calmest conditions where the wind takes you.

The landing may be in a paddock or near a river or stream. After packing up the balloon, travel to a cafe for a glass of 'bubbles' and a full breakfast to satisfy even the hungriest appetite, then return to the Paua shell Factory.

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Venue:

Carterton, Wairarapa.

Session Length

Hot air ballooning must be done within the first two hours of sunrise, therefore it is only possible to do one flight per day. Each flight is approximately one hour but please allow approximately 4 hours for the whole experience.

Guidelines:

Children over 8 years allowed when accompanied by an adult, but we do not recommend children under 10 years. If you suffer from any disability which restricts outdoor activity, you should first contact us. Please notify us if you are pregnant. All passengers MUST provide us with your weight in kgs.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. There will be a minimum of three and a maximum of 10 passengers in the basket during your flight.

Spectators:

Spectators may watch the launch and follow the flight if they wish in their own vehicles. They may join in the breakfast at the end for a cost of $15.00 per head, but numbers must be notified the night before, and there is a limit of 4 people per passenger.

Weather:

Our pilots reserve the right to cancel the flight if weather conditions are not suitable and reschedule for a later date. Please call the pilot during the week before the flight for an update on weather conditions. If flight is canceled the customer is responsibly for rescheduling a booking date.

Other Info:

Bring your camera and lots of film. Our pilots and balloons are CAA certified, and are subject to regular checks by CAA. Through out the flight the pilot is in regular contact with the chase crew and air traffic control.

This experience may be suitable for people with a sensory impairment only. You must be independently mobile in case of emergency.
