The Auckland Museum is the only venue in Auckland that provides authentic Maori cultural performances on a daily basis. Our outstanding Maori cultural group performs every day with performances that will introduce you to the story of Aotearoa through traditional song and dance.

Your experience begins with our Maori Cultural Performance which is recognized as being one if the leading Maori cultural experiences in New Zealand. Our performers are the face of Ngati Whatua O Orakei, the home tribe (Mana Whenua) of Auckland – (Tamaki Harenga Waka). You will enjoy a warm, vibrant and entertaining glimpse of Maori culture culminating in a high energy spine tingling version of our most celebrated dance, the world famous Haka. Following the performance, our warriors from our Maori Cultural Experience will take you on a guided tour of our magnificent Maori Gallery. See the largest and most valuable collection of Maori taonga (treasures) in the world at Auckland Museum. General admission to the rest of the Museum is included. Only one Auckland venue provides daily Maori cultural performances – the internationally acclaimed Auckland Museum.
