Travel by vintage tractor along the rugged coastline of New Zealand's east coast to the famous Cape Kidnappers gannet colony. Come up close with the gannets while exploring their natural habitat and surrounds.
Travel along the majestically rugged coastline from Clifton to Cape Kidnappers by vintage tractor to experience the impressive gannet colonies.
Your guide will teach you about the geology and ecological system at work in the area, including earthquake fault lines and fossils, guilles formed by wind and water and the towering cliffs of Cape Kidnappers coastline. Once at the colony, get right up close to the gannets in their natural habitat.
Enjoy an optional walk up to the light house and to the upper colonies for some spectacular views across the Hawkes Bay, perfect for keen photographers.
Then, jump back aboard the vintage tractors for your return journey to Clifton.
A moderate level of fitness is required if you are climbing to the lighthouse.
Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are to the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to their policy.
There can be up to 180 guests on the day.
In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider. If your experience is cancelled you will be rescheduled by the provider.
Please wear warm clothing (jacket or windbreaker, sweatshirt etc), sunhat and sunglasses. Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes - not jandals or sandals.
