RedBalloon is your one-stop shop for experiences and curated gifts. We’re so confident you’ll love what you get from us, we’re offering this promise to you…
We want you to have the most enriching experience possible, so if this means swapping your jet boat experience for wine tasting then we’ve got you covered. Simply exchange online or contact our Customer Experience Team and we’ll do the work for you.
Not only do we handpick the best experiences for you, we also guarantee you’ll pay the same as you would buying direct from the experience provider. If you find the same experience advertised at a lower standard price on the same day by the same provider, simply take a screenshot of the experience advertised at the lower price and tell us within 30 days of your purchase and we’ll match it.
We understand life gets busy, which is why all vouchers and gift cards purchased have a 5-year expiry. The only exception to our expiry terms is if the experience has already been booked in. We honour the purchase price of our experiences for 18 months. If you book your experience after this time and the price of the experience increases you can either pay the difference or exchange it for another experience free of charge.
We know the trust consumers place in ratings and reviews is tied directly to authenticity. That’s why we use Bazaarvoice. We believe that reviews should represent the genuine, unbiased, and transparent opinion about the author’s experience with a product or service. Reviews are not altered in any way by anyone other than the original author — including corrections for spelling or grammar. Reviews are not filtered, edited, or deleted simply because they are negative or are lower-rated.
The RedBalloon Price Guarantee does not apply to experiences involving accommodation or Experience Providers' own conditional sales.
Become a sea postie for the day as you cruise the remote reaches of Marlborough Sounds aboard the Pelorus Sound. Deliver mail to the residents in this tucked-away region, meet their four-legged friends that await your arrival and admire the crystal blue waters and bush-clad hills that surround.
A sea postie may be one of the best jobs around, and you'll discover why on this full day tour! Operating for more than a century, the Pelorus Mail Boat cruises through the largest, quietest and most remote part of the Marlborough Sounds; Pelorus Sound/Te Hoiere and Kenepuru Sound. You'll meet some of the characters in this faraway corner of the world as you deliver their mail on jetties, unspoilt beaches and on the boat itself, sometimes accompanied by their adorable four-legged friends. Between deliveries and pick ups, it will be hard to tear your eyes away from the stunning scenery that surrounds, flush with tranquil coves and bush-clad hillsides, as your friendly guide provides informative commentary. If the weather permits, you'll take a tour of a Greenshell Mussel farm. It's the perfect slice of daily life in this beautiful region.
The cruise runs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday only. Each day the boat goes via a different route through the Marlborough Sounds – Pelorus Sound and Kenepuru Sound. All the routes guarantee stunning scenery, the chance to spot amazing wildlife and fun, entertaining commentary from our onboard crew.
